Google Changes Its Photo Application Logo To A Flat Design: Fans Hate It!

Who wouldn’t have heard of Google today? Not only has the company created every kind of application to serve people, but also it continues to update them for better customer experiences. However, the recent update done with the logo design of Google Photo Application did not fascinate people much. Rather, we won’t be exaggerating if we tell you that people literally hated it.

The new logo design of Google Photos is flattened, with each of the four shapes now rounded instead of pointed. According to Google, this new logo looks like a pinwheel (windmill beach toys), and it will bring nostalgic and childhood feelings back to people.

On the one hand, the concept given by Google is really thoughtful. When we look back at pictures, memories, and nostalgia, surround us. But on the other side, the logo doesn’t look that clearly like a pinwheel. Well, at least they tried!

As soon as the new logo design was revealed, people took it to Twitter, and the bashing started. Some clearly stated that they hated the logo design. Here are some of the reactions.

Arun Maini said, “I'm torn. I like the simplicity, but there IS a point when something becomes TOO simple, to the point where it loses identity.”

Pownal mania said, “Why are so many companies going for simplistic logos now? I get not being too complex, but the Google Photos logo was fine with the way it was. There is no need for change.”
Steven Wilson took it too far, it compares the logo with Giant’s grocery store logo and tagged it with the caption, “Hi we’re @googlephotos, and we’d like to sell you some groceries.”

Summing it up

People are clearly not happy with Google Photo’s updated logo design. But it is also a fact that companies are moving towards minimalistic and simplistic logo designs, as these logos are easy to remember and trending.
